Pink Envelope Bridal Shower  Feature
Michelle G. had a beautiful bridal shower and as you can see in the group picture, many pink envelopes were placed in the shell. The theme spread to several items such as the pink ribbon Betty Crocker cookbook in one of the pictures and a trio of pink bowls from Bed Bath and Beyond (not pictured). It was a lovely day and everyone had a great time. Several of us have been wearing pink bracelets for a couple of years. We have several family members and friends who have succumbed to breast cancer or are current survivors.

Pink Envelope Birthday Benefit Bash and Dessert Party

“My latest life lesson is that one person can make a difference. My book club member’s   mother, Viola Simmons died last year from breast cancer. Her daughter walked in the Avon Walk in her memory. I supported her effort financially, but I know that event was not for me. One day I was surfing the web and I came across the Brides Against Breast Cancer Web page.  I thought the bridal gown sale was such a good idea, but when I opened the Pink Envelope Project page I knew I had found the event I could use to make a difference.  I decided to have a Pink and Red Envelope Birthday Benefit Bash and Dessert Party on August 19, 2006 at my home in Fort Washington Maryland.  My event will benefit the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation and the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America.

My guest were requested not to bring gifts or send cards but to make a donation in your pink envelope or in the red envelope to the charity of their choice.  A few days after I sent out the save the date cards I got my first call thanking me for having a Birthday Party that “Was not all about me”.  Friends and relatives are flying in from Miami, Atlanta, Memphis, and Mobile so far…..

The results have been a surprising thing.  Three other people are going to sponsor benefit events.  I would like to thank all the people at the Making Memories Breast Cancer Foundation for the idea and the support they provided me while I planned the Birthday Bash. I have enclosed pictures from the party. One person can make a difference.”
